$64,000,000 question follow up

Two weeks ago I asked you why you do the work you do? Tepid response...most likely because no one has ever asked. (Favor: Ask yourself that question everyday).

Today's question: Did you ever have a job where you went to work inspired everyday because of the purpose, cause or beliefs of the company?

How did that work out? Please share!

  1. When I worked selling metal roofing, it was a joy to talk, show and sell such a unique product. I liked it so much I installed it on my own home, doing most of the work myself. Now I am working to get that feeling back.

    1. Daniel - Thank you for the comment. Does that type of opportunity no longer exist?

  2. While I didn't chose to go into the profession I'm in....you never heard "Mom, I'm going to be an IT Service Delivery Executive when I grow up!!", I do find it enjoyable. I get to walk into a company and help them with a critical part of their business and hopefully teach them that IT is not just another cost center and a drain on their income, but a vital part of their business and can help them with their companies mission...not impede it.

  3. Cheryl - Thank you for the comment. Why is IT Service Delivery enjoyable? Wouldn't sales, accounting or medicine have the same effect? Why do you like to teach?
